The chair is a version of Mart Stam’s classic. Stam invented the world’s first cantilevered chair, when tube steel’s capabilities were changing the design world in the 1920s. The first use of tube steel in furniture is attributed to Marcel Breuer. Breuer was inspired by the strength and form of his bicycle’s handlebars.
