Sinatra. Elvis. James Bond. All were part of the Fontainebleau identity in the ’50s and ’60s, and you can still see it in this hotel’s self-described ‘spectacular blend of Golden Era glamour and modern luxury’. I was impressed with how the hotel infused the mid-century marvel with contemporary lighting and beautiful furniture that avoided the clichés. I guess that’s what a $1 billion dollar renovation in 2008 added.
