Haagse Lente Cafe

This unassuming cafe is right at the end of the street where I stay in the Hague. Grabbing coffee here this year and the last, I’ve enjoyed the collection of diner chairs. They’re interpretations of designs from the 1920s and a bit later. Each has an unnecessary chrome tube under the seat back—an affectation that’s fun to look at and modernizes them a bit. Too bad their extra supports rob the seats of any cantilevered bounce.
