Westnofa Siesta Chairs

Got myself a lil’ lesson in Scandinavian furniture at the Goodwill, today. I saw two leather lounge chairs being guarded by a rather excited gentleman, waiting to be priced. Since he seemed to know what he had more than I did, I asked.

Norwegian designer Ingmar Relling developed several versions of this Siesta Chair for Westnofa circa 1970. Their bent plywood is stained to look like rosewood; they have an unusual stitching along the frame to hold the canvas that supports their leather.

Westnofa is still around but their chair design has gone downhill from their heyday.

  1. I was wondering if you ever did find out the price.
