Svelte seats – an excellent use of narrow sidewalk dining.
The new face of the Melrose Market is Homegrown Sandwich Shop. They’ve only been open a few days, and were way too bustling for me to grab a sandwich when I passed by on lunch break, so I can’t comment on the food. But what a sweet use of teak outdoor furniture!
Teak is one of the best woods for outdoor use. It can take a beating from the rain and be restored to it’s full splendor with a little elbow grease, which makes it a traditional material for boat building and perfectly suited to our Northwest weather. Here is a cool line of teak outdoor furniture from Design Within Reach.
These narrow tables and chairs should make for a casual yet intimate lunch. I found the chairs also comfortable and light enough to scoot around the sidewalk with ease.
I hear their dinner menu is coming soon…
