I wrote before about the Mart Stam armchair I found after the local BMW dealership threw it out. This morning I found its twin.

As I was circling the blocks looking for parking at 7am (we all love Capitol Hill) I saw a familiar chrome bar peeking its head up from a dumpster. Slammed on the brakes, pulled up to the no parking signs, and lifted up that bar. The trash heap parted to reveal a beautiful chair in need of some TLC. The rust spots are bad, the fake leather is torn under the seat, but it still looked good enough to garner some, ‘nice chair!’ comments from the people passing me as I cleaned it outside my apartment.

The new one is pictured on the left. A nice addition to my home-for-forgotten-sit.
