Amsterdam 2008: Droog

The firm Droog is a leader in contemporary Dutch design. You might recognize their 85 Lamps chandelier. Here it is, in one of my favorite Seattle restaurants—Quinn’s.

I made a pilgrimage to the Droog headquarters in Amsterdam, two summers ago. Here are some of the wacky chairs I found. I wonder how these fit with Droog’s self-description as ‘no-nonsense, down to earth design mentality’.
